our perspective

Our Family in Harmony with Your Family

We appreciate and approach each client as an individual and as a member of a family or system.

As such, our family of therapists considers the physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of a client’s family and/or system as we collaborate on identifying strengths, challenges and goals.

That said, parents, family members, and support people are invited to participate in care when appropriate and, subsequently, given tools and tactics, as well as updates in support of their family member’s progress.

our approach

Through our collaborative, clinical environment, our family of therapists will help you achieve your goals.

Together, we’ll gather the important information, people and resources to help you identify the path, tools and strategies that work for you. And, we will regularly communicate with you and each other to evaluate your progress and, if necessary, recommend adjustments.

Furthermore, we personally invest in your care, so with radical candor we’ll be direct as we guide and, at times, challenge you. You’re trusting in us to help you move forward and, in turn, we’re trusting in you to be honest with us as an active participant who is forthright and asks questions.

Your journey to holistic well-being is also about owning your “stuff.” So, we’ll also help you increase your self-awareness and see the “big picture.” Being conscious of, and regulating, our emotions positively impacts our relationships with others.

All the while, we will walk forward with you– checking-in regularly regarding what’s working and what’s not, and making adjustments as needed. You will know what to do, how to do it and why it works! Our family of therapists will be by your side as you put everything into practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I Do If I am Having a Mental Health Crisis?

Each client will be able to directly communicate and message their therapist securely through the client portal. Messaging is the best way to communicate for all matters of communication between sessions. Please keep in mind that our therapists are not available 24/7, and we do not have a therapist on call for emergencies. If you are experiencing an emergency and cannot safely wait until your next scheduled session, please go to your nearest emergency room or call 911.  You can also reach the Montgomery County Mobile Crisis Support Center at 1-855-634-HOPE (4673).

What Is Your Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session for any reason, you must let your therapist know through securely messaging them in the Client Portal.  You must provide us at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, or you will be responsible for paying the full fee of the session.  We certainly understand that life happens.  In case of illness or emergency, waiving the fee will be at the discretion of the therapist.

Do You Prescribe Medication?

While our practice does not currently prescribe medication, we can certainly refer you to a psychiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, of family physician for medication management.  Please know that the decision to take medication is an extremely personal, and often very helpful decision that your therapist can support you in making.

How Long Does Each Session Last?

Each session is 45-50 minutes in length.  This allows the therapist 10-15 minutes between sessions to complete the necessary documentation required following each session.

How Long Will It Take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

I Want To Get The Most Out of Therapy, What Can I Do To Help?

We are so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions. Your active participation, consistency in attending sessions, and your commitment to the practice of your therapeutic homework will be crucial to your success.

Do You Take Insurance?

We are considered out-of-network providers and do not accept or file insurance claims. Please contact your insurance carrier to determine if you have out-of-network benefits. We will provide you with all documentation needed to file a claim with your insurance company.  You may also make payments through any existing flexible spending account you might have through your employer.

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

We've also partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Use calculator below to see if you qualify.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 267-405-3114.
